ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯನಿ COC 50 ಕಾಪರ್ ಆಕ್ಸಿಕ್ಲೋರೈಡ್ 50% WP ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಶಿಲೀಂಧ್ರನಾಶಕ

It is a contact protectant fungicide and bactericide for downy mildew in grapes, early and late blight in potato and tomato, leaf spot and canker in citrus, and black rot and rust in coffee.

Use about 3 g of copper oxychloride 50% WP per litre of water. Make a slurry first, add it to a part-filled tank, top up and keep the tank agitated while spraying.

The dose is 1 kg per acre for citrus, chilli, banana, potato, tobacco, tomato, grapes, coconut and betel. Coffee and cardamom need 1.5 kg per acre. Mix in 300-400 litres of water.

Currently Rs 944 for the 1 kg pack of Katyayani COC 50 on Krishi Direct. The 250 g pack is Rs 364 and the 10 kg pack is Rs 8,440. Prices can change.

Spray before symptoms appear, because copper protects the leaf but cannot cure an established infection. Spray when foliage can dry reasonably quickly, not in cool, damp weather. Cover both leaf surfaces.

Citrus (canker, leaf spot), chilli (leaf spot, fruit rot), banana, potato and tomato (early and late blight), grapes (downy mildew), tobacco, coconut (bud rot), betel, coffee (black rot, rust) and cardamom.

The technical name is Copper Oxychloride 50% WP, a wettable powder. COC 50 is Katyayani's brand name. Indian 50% WP grades carry 50% w/w metallic copper. Check the CIB&RC registration on the label.

They are physically compatible, but both are protectant fungicides, so mixing adds cost without much extra benefit. A better pairing is copper with a systemic fungicide. Never mix copper with acidic products or lime.

Avoid it in cool, wet, slow-drying weather, with acidic tank water or partners, on seedlings before the four-leaf stage, and after repeated sprays with no rain in between. All raise the risk of leaf burn.

Potato and tomato early and late blight are on the label. Use 1 kg per acre, about 3 g per litre, as a preventive spray before symptoms. Copper protects but does not cure.
