Imida is Imidacloprid 30.5% SC, a systemic insecticide for sucking pests like aphids, jassids, thrips, whiteflies, brown planthopper and termites in cotton, rice, chilli, sugarcane, mango, groundnut, grapes, tomato and vegetables.

Use 24 to 30 ml per acre on cotton and rice, and 50 to 60 ml per acre on chilli. Mix it in 150 to 200 litres of water and spray to full leaf cover.

At 30 ml per acre in 200 litres, it is about 0.15 ml per litre, or 2 to 2.5 ml per 15 L pump. For chilli, use about 4 to 4.5 ml per pump.

It kills aphids, jassids, leafhoppers, thrips, whiteflies, brown planthopper, white-backed planthopper, mealybugs and termites. It does not control caterpillars, bollworms or mites, so identify the pest before spraying.

At the first sign of sucking pests, because imidacloprid is systemic and works best early. In cotton and chilli that is usually 25 to 30 days after sowing; in rice, when planthoppers first appear at the base.

Fill the pump halfway, add the measured dose (2 to 2.5 ml per 15 L for cotton and rice, 4 to 4.5 ml for chilli), stir, then top up with water. Never pour it into an empty tank.

Spray before 10 in the morning or after 4 in the evening. Avoid spraying if rain is expected within 4 to 6 hours, and do not spray in strong wind.

It has no phytotoxic effect at the label dose. Overdosing can stress the crop. Wear gloves and a mask, keep livestock out of the field and follow the pre-harvest interval on the label.

Imida is recommended for chilli, tomato and vegetables (chilli dose 50 to 60 ml per acre, first spray around 25 to 30 days after sowing). No month-wise schedule is given, so spray when sucking pests first appear.
