Composition and Mode of Action

The active ingredient is azadirachtin from the neem tree. Its actions are:

  • Repellent: makes it difficult for pests to move and feed on your crop.
  • Feeding disruption: disrupts the insect's hormones and nervous system, so it loses appetite and stops feeding.
  • Growth regulator: interferes with moulting, so young insects do not mature or reproduce.
  • Egg-laying deterrent: discourages insects from laying eggs on your plants.
  • Fungal protection: helps prevent and manage powdery mildew, rust and blight.

How and When to Spray

  • Stir the dose into a little water first, then fill the tank. The oil is activated, so it already contains an emulsifier.
  • Shake the sprayer often and use the mix on the same day.
  • Spray in the evening and cover both sides of the leaves, especially the undersides.
  • For aphids and whitefly, repeat 2 to 3 times for full control.
  • Neem acts slower than chemical insecticides, so start at the first sign of pests.
  • Home garden and indoor plants: test on a few leaves first, and do not spray in afternoon sun.

Safety for Bees and Beneficial Insects

When used as directed, Activated Neem Oil has minimal impact on beneficial insects like pollinators and predators. On flowering plants, spray in the evening when bees are not active, and avoid spraying directly on open flowers.

Precautions and Disclaimer

  • Use as per the label and do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Wear gloves and a mask while mixing and spraying.
  • Keep away from children, animals, food and feed.
